Listening Test
Time: 40 minutes
30 minutes of audio, then 10 minutes to transfer your answers.
How the listening paper works
Sit each paper the way you would sit the real one. The timings below are the official ones; everything else is simply what makes a practice attempt worth marking.
Time: 40 minutes
30 minutes of audio, then 10 minutes to transfer your answers.
How the listening paper worksTime: 60 minutes
No extra time to transfer answers — write them straight onto the answer sheet.
How the reading paper worksTime: 60 minutes
Two tasks. Give Task 2 roughly 40 of the 60 minutes — it carries twice the marks.
How the writing paper worksTime: 11–14 minutes
Record yourself answering, then play it back. You will hear the hesitations you cannot hear live.
How the speaking paper worksListening and Reading mark themselves against an answer key. Writing and Speaking do not — they are scored against the band descriptors by a trained examiner, and that is the part a practice paper cannot do for you. Send us your completed attempt and we will mark it and tell you the band you are working at right now.
Tell us where to reach you and we will open WhatsApp so you can send your paper straight over.
